Individual Retreats
Individuals are welcome to come out to Sanctuary of Hope for a day retreat or overnight stay. See our retreat prices. We aren't able to provide meals for private retreatants, but you may bring your own food. Spiritual direction is available for any faith with our Director, Fr. Joseph Arsenault, with advanced notice. See the Spiritual Direction page to find out more information about what to expect from spiritual direction.

8. You have options so your time can unfold in several different ways. Ultimately, the experience is between you and God, but there are a few
ways you can structure your space and time with God to suite your current needs. Here are some options:
- a. Spend all your time in silence, heightening your awareness of the present moment, to the “noises” within and without, and the One who abides with you
- b. Bring your own materials like journal, Bible, devotions, art supplies, etc. that you know you want to utilize for your reserved time with God
- c. Make use of resources here to structure your time:
- i. Guided meditations in the prayer room
- ii Nature trails
- iii Water garden
- iv Reflecting on nature as you sit on benches near various sacred statues or shrines
- v. Labyrinth, and outdoor prayer walk
- vi. Multiple handouts that supply possible specific patterns for your time (scripture reading with guiding questions; options on how to
- engage the silence; varied kinds of meditation guides; etc.)
- vii Time alone in an individual room, Meditation Room, or walking the grounds outside
- viii Reading in the library
- ix. The chapel for prayer, meditation, reflection on artwork, etc.
- x. Spiritual Direction: Spiritual Directors/Companions are available for listening and prayer as you discern the ongoing leading of God in your life. You could meet for 30 minutes at the beginning of your time and at the conclusion of your time, or meet for up to an hour with a Spiritual Director anytime during your stay, if one is available. This is best accommodated through advanced scheduling. We want to make this ministry accessible to any who need it, so there is no set fee, but we will receive donations for service.
